Claudia and Fabrice Caporal, of Alameda, check on an oak seedling at their Clos Racines truffle farm in Lake County, about 65 miles northeast of Santa Rosa. The Caporals have seeded their oak trees with the famous French black Périgord truffles sought after by chefs in fine restaurants throughout the world. At 26 acres, Clos Racines is said to be California’s largest truffle farm to date.
